we are using mac desktop with os X v 10.3.9. we would like to connect a printer to our computer which has internet connection. the problem is, anyone from my institutute accessing internet can give print to my printer. i want to block this option. is that any idea how to stop this.

Have to admit to not being familiar with 10.3.9 but you can trying un-ticking Printer Sharing in the Sharing pane of System Preferences.

This guide gives you loads of info about file and printer sharing.
