need video editing software

greetings everyone!

i am a new macbook user and i am curious on what's the best video editing software for macs.

can anyone suggest or comment on what's the best video editing that you use for your macbook?

Depends on your needs. Your system should have come with iMovie and iDVD, that would be a start. You can get Final Cut Express also.

I was using iMovie (the older one, 06) and it's quite good. I recently got Final Cut Express 4, but haven't learned to use it. I want to soon as it's very powerful, I know Studio would be overkill for me.

Final Cut is a more advanced editing software, but you just need to sit and play around with the video options to get a good feel for it. the new iMovie '09 is a perfect beginners program. it has many extra options, like themes and built-in SFX. but they are all very basic and preset, no settings...

Final Cut Express is a cheaper version, and definitely worth the dough. color correction/replacement, Green/Bluescreen, Even 3-D possibilities! so I suppose it depends on what you are going to want to do with the video you shoot. Good Luck

As noted, you get iMovie with a Mac. This is great for a more than the basics and likely is good enough for most people.

In the high end, you have Apple's Final Cut Studio, Adobe's Premier Pro, and tools from Avid.

What video editing software do I need to get to be able to blur out faces, I would like to know the name of it, and if you know, I would like to know how much it costs

For blurring multiple faces, Final Cut will work. See the Apple site for pricing. Search the net for tutorials on how to do it.

I recommend iMovie....Final Cut is way too complicated, even the express version
