Can't find FireFox after install;How do I creat app icons

I do I create application icons?

I installed Firefox on my Mac but I can't find any way to start it. It's not in the Applications folder and there are no icons.

The only way I can start Firefox now is to run the installer again which leads to a screen with an icon that will start it up.

Drag the firefox icon to the application folder to install it. Then when you want to use it again it will be in the application folder. Your not installing firefox your just running firefox off the disk image (dmg file)

It's that Mac way of doing things I haven't caught onto yet. In time.... Thank you for the help.
