my MB's software updater is scheduled to look for updates daily.
today i noticed that there's a firmware update (1.2) released on the 8th that was not detected by it.

1) should i be worried?
2) should i download/install it manually?

thanks

Yeah sometimes it'll miss stuff, don't worry about it, just make sure you follow the instructions when you install it!

1. No need to worry about it.
2. Yes, you should install it. You can use Software Update or download it manually. Either way will work.

I updated both my MB and the wife's iMac with no trouble.

Not 'all' MacBook firmware updates are for 'all' Macbooks (insert MBP, iMac, etc).

See here for correct firmware versions for your specific machine.
Good page to bookmark if you have questions about the proper firmware version.
