Just got a MacBook Pro and need some help

Just a macbook pro running tiger 10.4.10 and I also have a mac osx leopard disk
How easy it to install
I want to do a complete wipeout since previous user was using it
I want to keep some of the software is that possible?

13" white 2.16Ghz, 2Gb ram, 120gb hd
it's a real easy install, and you shouldn't have any probelms... if you want to keep some of the applications then you have two options.

1. Copy over the apps you want on another drive (assuming those apps are leopard compatible)
2. Do a archive and install (this will retain everything from the last user, and will save it another folder)

if you need a guide for leopard install, do a google search on "leopard install guide" and click on the first link which is a pdf... that should help should you need it

Black MacBook- 2.2GHz, 1gb RAM, 160GB, Double-Layer Superdrive.
Pretty easy, pop the DVD in, reboot, hold cmd+C to boot from the DVD. Follow the instructions and you're good to go. If you want to keep just a few pieces of software try burning 'em onto a DVD.

First off what are you trying to burn to the DVD and second what does the error say?
