I just had my first post deleted from the the forums, and the only reason I can think of is that my post contained (OK, I'll admit it) a suggestion to break certain laws (avoid import duties) in a certain European country... Would this be cause for a mod to remove my post?

Quite possibly - the forum tries to respect the various laws of all countries, although abides by US law above all, and so this may have been a reason. The mod in question will likely send you a PM.

Just another peice of etiquette, you're better off PMing mods directly if you're unsure about this kind of thing, rather than starting posts. I'm sure in this case it won't be an issue, but these threads almost always end up in a 'discussion' about censorship or something, which is best avoided.

Therefore discussion of illegal file sharing, cracked programs, requests for serial numbers, and any other breaches of copyright or other illegal activity are not allowed in these forums.

This also includes discussion of breaking the terms of software or hardware EULAs.
I think that is fairly clear and to the point.

Thanks! Yep, my bad. I'll contact admin directly next time. And I've read the rules again, more carefully this time.
