As a recent convert to mac I am now totally bored. Bored because I have no problems and issues to fix as I did with windows. I was constantly tackling this and that issue with windows... which was challenging and kept me going.

Now I am fed up with everything working all the time. Guess ill have to go out and spend some money on some new software to keep me busy.

Very much enjoying the whole experience though and extremely glad to have switched.

Can you guys recommend any entertaining/interesting software for a challenge... not games as use xbox 360 and those games do not entertain now either.

Whew ... I'm not alone! I, too, have found myself with more time on my hands due to the lack of problems I'm having with my MB. Maybe I'll go turn on my Vista machine and tackle what is going to be a big headache with the installation of SP-1!

ROFL I had to giggle at that:) I too actually have more time and need to find things to do to keep me busy. I too was kept busy every day with spyware scans, scanning for viruses and more on my windows pc.

I love not having to do all that though and I love just using my iMac:) One thing I have been doing is reading up on programs like Oynx, MainMenu and if cleaning cache files etc is really needed.

I know just what you mean about the Windows regime of keeping busy.

I have a Windows XP SP2 machine on which I have:
  • Zone Alarm Professional Firewall - updates itself every so often and even runs spyware scans if I let it.
  • NOD32 AntiVirus - udates it's definitions almost every day, sits in the background doing on-access scanning and does a full scan every Sunday.
  • PC Tools Spyware Doctor - also sits in the background watching various things, does an intelli-scan every other day and a full scan once a week.
  • Sana Primary Response SafeConnect - sits in the background and monitors applications for potentially malicious behaviour, like one process trying to launch another or inject code into it.
  • Windows update - pops up once a week telling me there's updates to apply, many of which are to do with 'preventing a malicious attacker from taking control'.
  • Ultimate Defrag - to optimize file access times by doing a monthly defrag.
  • CCleaner - to clear out rubbish, caches, etc.
  • McAfee SiteAdvisor - to warn about possibly nefarious sites.
  • Registry Mechanic - to keep the registry optimized.
  • Webroot SpySweeper - as a backup to Spyware Doctor as they say that no single anti-spyware program on Windows will get everything.
  • Cacheman XP - to optimize memory management and various other features of the system.
The joke is that I only really use THREE real applications on my Windows machine - SQL Server Express, Helium Music Manager plus Tag&Rename., but I've spent more on add-ons to keep the thing sweet than I've spent on the real applications themselves!

Paranoid? You bet!

On the Mac there's well.... errr.... OS X. Oh and I did invest in a copy of Onyx in case I should ever nead it. And that's it.

Boredom? Yes please... ;D

Isn't it great to finally look forward and be excited about using a computer again? My stress level has gone down 100% since I switched to Mac only.

I would never say I am bored though. I find myself using my computers more than ever now. I enjoy watching my DVDs on my iMac, the colors and quality is just awesome. :) Have a great Sunday everyone, I'm gonna finish watching a DVD on my iMac and then get some sleep.

Being bored because your computer "just works"? What a nice problem to have! Be thankful!!
