• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hey guys,
I am still learning FCP and I have everything edited there, but I do not know how to use titles well enough to make interesting transitions. I am making a copy of someone's graduate recital and want to do more with the titles of each song rather than just plain text and that is all I know how to do on FCP right now... so my question is... can I move my FCP into IMovie?
I saved the FCP as a quicktime and tried to import it into Imovie but that did not do the job... I guess I could dump the edited version onto tape and then recapture that tape with Imovie, but there has to be a better way than that... just let me know (by the end of the day would be wonderful)!
thanks

Consider reviewing the LiveType tutorials of Final Cut Express. Click the blue circle down arrow that appears just below the list to see those tutorial listings.

Also look for others like this one at the L.A. Final Cut Pro Users Group tutorial page.

As for exporting, use the QuickTime export option where you can choose your codecs. Select the Apple Intermediate Codec and a high quality audio codec and export to a new file name. Import that into a new iMovie project. You also probably want to set the size to 'Current'.

Lastly, when you ask about software, list the version number. I can influence the response you receive.
