x11 --rootless

MacBook 1.83 GHz intel c2d, 2gb ram, xp and os x.6
I've been trying to run openbox rootless via X11 (using the X11 on the mac install dvd) but for some reason I can't get any of my keybindings to work.

Do I have to run it in fullscreen mode to get my keybindings cause that would be a pain?

to clarify.

my keybindings within apps work (urxvt, mutt, etc.), just none for the wm. I can't [Command + p] to open dmenu, or any of the others that I configured in my rc.xml
