Hey everyone,

Hopefully, if everything goes according to plan, I will be getting an imac very soon in the future. Now I'm split between getting either the 20" 2.0 or the 20" 2.4 imac (gotta love the refurb price!). The only games I most likely play will be free online flash games. The most labor intensive task the future imac will go through will be recording music (drums and percussion). I assume that the difference between the Ghz and graphics card selection is mainly for games and RAM is a key component for music production (please correct me if I'm wrong!). I will be upgrading my RAM to 3 or 4 gigs through crucial.com ( 2.4 Ghz http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=iMac 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (20-inch) 2.0 Ghz http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=iMac 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (20-inch) ). I am on a very tight budget so I would love to hear everyone's suggestions/opinions!

thanks!

Everything that you need to do on your Mac can be easily accomplished using the 2.0 GHz machine. I have a 2.16 GHz and it's more than enough. Your are correct, the additional RAM is what will make the difference on your new Mac.

Yeah, I think the 2.0 GHZ will suit you just fine, make sure you buy the RAM after market though! Apple is notorious for over-charging for RAM.
