Hahaha... 20. The most pointless age ever. All you get is getting out of your teens, so there goes your "I'm a teenager" excuse for being dumb, plus no extra benfits Happy Birthday though! Enjoy it!
Does the early twenties thing mean different things in the US
In the UK the big one is 18, when you can finally legally go to bars (pubs) and drink
I know in the USA the age is 21, which was wierd when some college friends of mine visited the states and suddenly found that they were under age for drinking
It feels totally different doesn't it? 100% older and wiser! I turned 20 a few months ago and am still getting used to the fact that I am not a teenager anymore....now I am old enough to vote and have to pay taxes, but still too young to get into the local casino to hear my favorite singer's concerts.
I'm turning 20 soon, but I really am not that excited at all. I mean, in the US, it means NOTHING. You hit that age where you are not even close to being a teenager anymore, yet you are still not allowed to drink?! Ugh...makes me mad >:O

Nonono, 20 is not the most pointless age ever...23 is! It's just such a....blah...birthday. It was a boring birthday for me, and a good friend of mine turned 23 before I did and concurs that it's not an exciting birthday. Just think about it...nothing special, really...at least when you turn 21 you're absolutely an adult no matter how you look at things....at 22 more bars will let you drink (I don't do the bar thing, but I know some bars won't serve to 21-year-olds because they're not "experienced" enough)...and I spent my 24th birthday enjoying a Carvel cake on the beach two blocks from my new apartment (this was nearly 10 years ago and I'm in a different place now 700 miles west that I like even better)...
What happens in between? Nothing. You're already 2 years away from being allowed to drink, but still two more years before you can rent a car....
20 is definitely a good age. I think 19 is the ideal age, except that you still have all that college left to go through (except for extenuating circumstances)....20 is just slightly older.
