I had encoded some movies using hand brake, to the apple tv format. I wanted the highest quality for my apple tv. My wife is going on vacation tomorrow and she wants me to put some of these movies onto her 5th gen iPod video. What program will work to take the already apple tv encoded videos and re-encode them to work on an ipod. I no longer have the disks for the movies.

If you no longer have the disks, then technically you have no rights to the rips, and aiding/abetting in piracy is against forum rules.

ffmpeg X basically opens up UNIX video conversion commands that are otherwise hidden away as terminal commands

Download ffmpeg X and when opened up download the extra components it needs from the links provided.

It has presets for ipod compatible encoding

have you gor an intel or PPC mac
