• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I use Visual Hub to convert my files.
It will also join several files together into one dvd.

I've been trying to burn video DVDs for a long time and consistently fail. I've tried to work out how to do it with iDVD, but apparently it's not possible to burn a video DVD with Mac's own video DVD-burning software.

I tried a piece of software called ImTOO DVD Creator, but each time I try to add a video file I get the message "The following files are failed (sic) to be added". I've tried with avi, mpg and mov files and get the same message for all.

I then tried Burn (as per this thread). Burn converted my avi video file to mpg format and then I went through the dialog boxes of selecting burn speed, etc., was prompted to insert a disk and the software seemed to burn. But I couldn't hear the drive doing much and when it had finished the disk was untouched.

Any suggestions? Any other software I can try?

Getting tired of this...

Thanks!
