I like Slash from Guns 'n' Roses better.

However, my favorite guitarist has to be Prince, by far.

May not be the most technical, but my God, can that man play.

So hard for me to pick a Favorite as I like so many in so many different styles of music. There are so many guitarists who although very different from each other, but who are so very talented.

Since I am sure no one else will mention him, I think I will go with the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. Played with such feeling and emotion.

I like so many, but his work stands out for me and I will never forget the way the man played.

I'm hesitating between Jimmy Page and Mick Taylor... Mick Taylor I loved when he had a stint with the Rolling Bones (which I'm not particularly fond of) but I haven't heard anything from him since he left that bunch. I heard he did a solo thing though. I'll have to look and see if there's anything in iTunes.

i would have mentioned him.

i would say Flea, Bootsy Collins, Geddy Lee, John Entwhistle, John Paul Jones, and Les Claypool.

You didnt specify if this was to include Bass Guitar, so i included them.

Hendrix- I was told he had only one #1 hit, a cover of Dylan's "Along the Watchtower", he's left a big mark in rock music.
Of course there's always Jimmy Page, SRV, and Clapton.

Since everyone is giving a list, I'll go right ahead and name a few then.

Prince, Johnny Ramone, Greg Ginn, Mark Knopfler, **** Dale, Pat Smear, and Jaco Pastorius.

All Along the Watchtower actually never hit number one.

Jimmy Page or John Frusciante for me.
