I just wanted to know if there was a way to change the computer name?

Like when you log off it says log off 'Joe Blow'

And in finer it shows you as JoeBlow

Can I change that??

Whatever you do DO NOT rename that folder in Finder cause you will lose all your files. Now if there's an alternate method of renaming it via terminal or something, I'm sure sure, but I just thought I'd mention not to rename that folder.

The name in the finder is your user name, not the name of your computer. Do you want to change your user name?

There are several places you can change your name, your computer name, the name on your network...

User name:
attachment.php

Actual name:
attachment.php

Computer name:
attachment.php

NetBios (windows network) name:

Change your User Name in the first image I posted. Notice here that when I did so, the label changed in the menu...

I think the problem with that is, you have a new username for when you log in (ssh/ftp/apf/rdc/vnc... and of course, etc).
