Annoying Beep from Entourage mail sync

It started today, but I now have an annoying beep from entourage each time my mail automatically syncs w/ the server its pulling mail from. It happens twice, once at the initial start of the sync, and once again when its ending. Has anyone else had this problem?

maybe its just a sound to let you know that there was no mail in the server. i know this does this in mail.

Under Entourage > Preferences > Notification there is an option for a sound indicating no new mail. Perhaps this needs to be unchecked...
