How to make two Macs talk to eachother

Hey folks, just aquired a pair of eMacs, formatted both, they now both run 10.4.11....how can I make them talk to eachother on my network, I've already got both to see a share on my Windows machine where I have all the freebee Mac DMG downloads stored.....just would like the Macs to communicate with eachother.....

Well, you could try finding the IP address in a terminal. Type ifconfig. Then in Finder select Go menu - Connect to Server.

But you must have a Shared Folder specified first. System Preferences - Sharing tick file sharing and specify a folder and set permissions.
