Canon's kit lens sucks...

...pause...not!

Heh. Just an example. These are posted in my DIY backdrop stand thread but they're pretty small. Here's the 800x533px version. Both were shot with my kit lens while I was testing out the light stand setup. Both were shot raw and then sharpened in PS.

Point being, the kit lens isn't as sharp as a $1000+ L lens, but it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.

Oh, and all you OS X users need to watch your back. The Linux penguin is starting to get jealous that your OS is becoming popular and his isn't ;D

I agree that it is not as bad as people make it out to be, but I still don't really like using it. I like my 17-40 f/4L MUCH better.
