Any experience using a UMax PowerLook 3000? Would the quality be better than a newer scanner like a Minolta Dimage 5400? The UMax has a SCSI2 interface that isn't supported by a Mac G5. Is there any way of "adapting" to this? Thanks!

modern quality scanner will do a better job, but remember, no matter how high you set the quality there is only so much detail you can get from 35mm film. The scanner will need a back-lit transparency hood

also check out VueScan to see if it supports that Umax scanner
