Well, I’ve seen “whats your favourite iOS and now iPad OS app?” And macOS apps get aired a lot but I don’t think we have discussed Apple Watch apps much.
Obviously a lot are aimed at fitness, personal organisers, timers and calendars many of which I use myself but there are other slightly more obscure apps.
I have an app called Cheatsheet for iOS and Watch which has a face complication and stores info I use frequently that changes regularly such as key locker codes, wifi passwords, ATM card PIN numbers an any info that I need quick easy access to for a short time.
So what’s your favourite “handy” app?

Wallet. I like not having to drag out my credit cards to pay for things when the stores have NFC readers. And I use the Accuweather app for one of my complications. Finally, with baseball about to begin again, I use MLB's At Bat app to get alerts for games I cannot see.

Yes wallet it really useful, I simply don’t need to take my phone out nearly as much.

Did you see the article from Apple news that claims folks can use their AW to activate the auto turnstiles at the New York Transit system (subways and metro lines)? Supposedly you can do the same thing with your Apple credit card. I really don't know how much easier that is rather than using your Metro Card which you have to swipe.

I believe you can do the same thing with the Washington DC metro system.

Charlie, that is handier than you might believe. If you keep the  watch ready, two clicks and a wave at the sensor and your are done. And you can do the two clicks up to a minute early, I think, so you can get to the turnstile and just wave the watch at the sensor and go. The new NFC credit cards can do the same thing, but you have to either just have one, or take it out of your wallet to use. The various prepay cards do the same thing, I think.

To be honest, I'm slightly surprised by how much I use my  watch to pay for things. Most stores take Apple Pay now, so it's really convenient.

I just became fairly decent with using wallet on my iPhone. The watch is my next step....baby steps...

My new favorite - the Noise app. I like that it will notify me if the music gets loud during church and I can adjust it. I am so busy I don’t always notice.

The wallet app on my Apple Watch has been fantastic during COVID-19 "no touch" contactless payment preferred everywhere here in Australia. I have my debit card lodged in my wallet app and I pay for everything that way. No more pulling out my physical wallet and fumbling for my card. I've only gone through $200.00 in cash since March.

That's my favorite as well, Rod. I still get the occasional "Wow" at using it, but that's getting less and less prevalent. When I first started using it I got lots of comments about never seeing that before.

Yes, it's even less common that using the phone which a lot of people do now. I/we don't even have to get that out now.
The other most used app I have is Timer+. It has preset and customisable time periods and I use it for a host of things. Baking, the washing machine, coffee percolator, pasta and just as a reminder, eg. I need to ring so and so in an hour etc. Really handy. Of course I could use Siri but this is faster and shows me how much time is remaining.

Yep, that's a complication on my watch face. I use it twice a day, at least. I make my morning tea with the timer and then again in the afternoon for a tea break. Great to just be able to tap it, get it going and then get about whatever else I want to do without having to remember to look at the clock. (Yes, I'm both lazy and forgetful.)

Okay since Rod kinda started this thread going again and my preferences have change.
Favs:
The Workout app - Pool swim - for keep track of my time and laps.
Alarm - I have it set to let me know when we are going live at church, oh, and also to wake me up in the morning.
Timer - for cooking mainly.

AND ... Wallet skills are getting better due to the whole necessity thing and covid.

Oh I do like things for the lazy and forgetful. That certainly applies to me according to my wife who likes to add irritable to the list.

Unfortunately, I don’t have an AW which is my excuse for being the way I am:wink
