Am contemplating getting an Apple watch but there are multiple series out there and then I see advertisements indicating different measurements. I was also told that the earlier series(s) were waterproof.
Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the differences between the series(s) and what the measurement is for?
Thanks

The only question I have right not, and I may have missed it in the article, is which series is waterproof? I was told series 1 is NOT waterproof.

Pretty much everything you wanted to know about the Apple Watch + water question:;)

I'm not sure if it was about an iWatch model or not but I read not too long ago that the device's "waterproof" specs code said yes to swimming and some stuff but NO to exposure in a warm/hot shower.

So I guess one has to check all the code's specs of what is and is not included????

Just like my hearing aids I guess, I had to do some checking and read some articles like:
"The Real Difference Between “Waterproof”and “Water-Resistant” Hearing Aids" etc. …

And yes they also have some sort f coating, but I still don't know how long it lasts or if it has to be reapplied, if it's even possible to do so…

Poor consumer eh???

@Reinyrooster:

Please post in the correct forum. The Buy, Sell, Trade, forum is just as the title says.... Do you have something to Buy, Sell, or Trade? No? Then is does not belong in that forum.

We moved your thread to here where it belongs in the "Apple Watch" forum.

Thanks.

Water resistants started with the Watch2- which has been discontinued. The Watch3 is water resistant also. Actually the watch has a feature that "shakes" the water out of the open areas like the mic.

And the pool/shower issue is pretty moot. I shower with my AW2 every day and it's just as waterproof for that as it is for a pool. The one thing I am careful to do is to run the "shake" feature Lisa mentioned every time, and I do try to avoid getting soap on the watch itself. I think the issue with showers is more the soap than the water. Plus, my water is pretty soft, so I don't know about how it might do with hard water and the mineral deposits from the water when it dries.

Basically, I just don't worry about water and the AW2.
