Apple is a growing company with new people switching from other computer companies to Macs. I predict this year to be an excellent year for the apple stock. With the iPhone, OS 10.5 Leopard, and possibly a new generation of iPod, the stock will surely go up. right ?
So I guess my question is; Do you think now is a good time to put stock in Apple right now?
I ask this because this will be my first time investing money in a company, and I will be investing a good bit of money.

well, wrong forum.

plus, talking with an investor would probably be wiser than a bunch of random people over the net.

The time to buy would have been before all of those products were announced. Unless the iPhone and Leopard are hugely successful the stock won't receive anywhere near the benefits that it did when they were announced

I've worked for investment banks for most of my career, and skye's and trpnmonkey41's advice is the best I've seen here.

If you're serious about investing in anything, it would be best to find a financial adviser first. You shouldn't base your investment decisions on emotion, and always be aware of the risk involved.

Investing now would not be wise. The only real thing you can hope for, with Apples recent stock performance, is a 2 for 1 spit again. I'd wait until after that happens to buy again though, as the price will be half of the split price.

You'll be okay if I don't invest in the stock because every stock I've tried my hand at, ends up going broke. :(

I'd never do that to Apple so guess you'd be safe! The only company I decided NOT to invest in (back in 1989) did well...Microsoft! My hubby said I could lose quickly, so I decided not to invest in such an iffy market. :D

Shows ya what I know. So when it comes to investing, you don't want my advice. ;)

Good luck!

There is a chance that the iPhone won't be a success, if that happens it will be really bad for the stocks. It will be hard for the device to live up to its reputation and i know many Apple-haters will take the smallest opportunity to trash on Jobs and Apple.

That sounds a little too optimistic.
I never said it was accurate, after all, its from some rumor site :black:
I just saw it and thought of this thread. :black:

I did. When it was $12 a share and dropping....

LOL...that's why I added "sometimes." I can't trust anything, just don't do it anymore except what I have invested through work. And, the bummer is, they don't always pick right either. It's a pretty shaky business! :(

If you do end up buying Apple stock, I would hold it until the day Apple releases the iPhone, then sell it the next morning. Stock will be high with the release, but I predict that the Apple iPhone is going to be a bust, and when it is, the stock is going to go down like a cheap hooker on pay-day!

Unless apple makes some sort of press release stating how great the iPhone is selling initially I don't think there will be any huge fluctuation for the stock prices until Quarterly reports come out
