Today I attempted to contact Apple in regard to two games which I downloaded from the Mac App Store yesterday. Both were listed as compatible with my MBP on the downloads information page but both were disabled after download with the unlaunchable icon on each. I and others have been under the impression that after the cull of 32-bit apps following the release of Catalina only apps suitable for the new architecture remained, this is clearly not so.
On attempting to contact Apple in regard to this on my iPhone I was offered an option to download a new app. This is called "Apple Support", it is a dedicated application to allow users to contact Apple regarding any issue, schedule call backs, send messages, including photos, arrange repairs and or get live support.
So I have reported my problem and I will follow up with the outcome.

@Rod:

Make sure the support you're asking for is free. Apple does not supply free telephone support after Apple Care expires. However, customer support that concerns problems with the Mac App Store offerings should be free.

Yes fingers crossed there. Have you seen this app Charlie? It has a number of functions, how to's on a list of common questions, upcoming news, popular topics on things like Internet and connectivity, Mail, hardware, printing an scanning and a discover more section for learning, getting alerts about reservations and a share function. At the heart of it of course is the support function. Once logged in with Apple ID and confirmed with 2SV it lists all your devices and you simply go from there.
As for a charge, that is a good point. Remains to be seen but as you say i don't think they would call you for free.

I've had the Apple Support app now for some time. I believe it was installed along with iOS 13 a while back. And yes, it's a handy app that will list your devices and even tell you if Apple Care is still current. You can schedule appointments at the genius bar directly from the app. Real handy to have and it does save time.

Actually you can do the same thing from your Mac by going to Apple Support.
