I wasn't too sure where to put this but I was so excited I put it here, sorry if it's the wrong spot guys.

I spent a fruitless late morning to early afternoon trying to work out why I couldn't login to either Face Time or iMessages on my iPhone. As usual I read several articles on why iMessage might hang with the message, "Waiting for activation." I tried all of the steps with no success but it wasn't till I got to an Apple Support page that I found this handy tip.

There is a System Status Site where you can check if the problem is at Apples end or yours. Apple - Support - System Status

And guess what I found, I'm definitely page marking this one for future reference.

Excellent, Rod. I knew such a site existed, but had no idea where to locate it. Many thanks.

Yes, it has been mentioned here previously. I have it bookmarked and have posted it for others as well.

Yup, and thanks Rod, it can be very helpful at times.

Just like some other sites that track other sites like:
isitdownrightnow Is It Down Right Now? Website Down or Not?

PS: some tracking sites seem to be country specific,

My home internet is so up and down I never notice if other sites are having issues. BUT on Monday, for the third time, Frontier is supposed to come fix my service. If they do not I have already told them I would be cancelling my service with them.

As for the Sprint Magic Box 3 - It is up and down too. So I am still dealing with them too.

It seems like you have and must deal with what many of us locally here refer to as "Island Time" and that's literally trure, and really more so for some!!! Especially for most living on the various Gulf (Salish Sea) Islands which exaggerates the slow Internet problems.

According to my local Spectrum salesman and installer, Frontier is in trouble and possibly may be extended beyond what they can keep up with. I take what he said with a grain of salt, but my dealings with Frontier have been nothing but aggravating to say the least.

Around here we have lots of choices but out in the boondocks where you live Lisa, not much you can do. Are there any other ISPs that have service where you are?

Yeah! HughesNet! I would prefer to not go back to satellite. It is too expensive for what you get.

So far the Sprint magic box 3 is doing better. I had a session with a tech today and so far it is decent. As for Frontier... we shall see. They have already sent me a text saying they ran a test and my line is "fixed". All that static I hear and my DSL dropping in and out is all in my head I guess. I text back and said no it is not fixed! So supposedly they will be here on 8/19 to work on it. If it is like the last two times I will not see a repair person and they will tell me I was not home so they cancelled the call. I believe they call ahead and when you don't answer they cancel the repair order. Of course, it is hard to answer a non-working phone!

i do wonder though - how do the telemarketer calls manage to get through???? Either way if they do not fix it they will be loosing a long time customer.

I've already decided to dump Frontier when my contract with them is up. I hate to go with Spectrum but since their rates are much lower and they offer a no contract hookup, I figure if that doesn't work out, I can always get out my Quaker Oats tins. :goofy
