The new iMac Pro is pretty cool but it would be good if it is not that expensive...

It might be expensive to us, but for a high-end professional user that needs server-grade hardware and performance, it is actually reasonably good value. You should look at how 'expensive' servers can get.

Hello friends,
I know Apple products are generally expensive, when I bought my Mac last year, I saved £1500. I think if I changed to the latest current model, it's about £2000!

In the posts above, you mention fan noise, well I don't hear any noise with my Mac.

I think the new iMac Pro is a pretty cool idea (an area that hasn't exactly been explored)...and could be an interesting alternative to a Mac Pro. Of course there's the non-upgradability factor. But then again...the new 2013 Mac Pro wasn't super upgradeable either.

And of course a $4999+ iMac Pro is certainly targeted at professional level users (or individual users with wayyy too much cash).;)

Might be nice to get one of these used in 2-3 years when prices drop!:)

would you say it will drop more than 40% ?

No, it will not. But eventually it will make its way to the refurbished store where you will get about 15% of the retail price. But assuming the model continues to stay in the lineup, the current generation one will always stay at retail pricing.

The only place you will see any sort of dramatic decrease is if you go the used market (and not refurbished). But that's risky.
