I have a problem with this if this trend towards "thinning" comes at the cost of good internals. I'm hoping that these ultra thin notebooks complement the MBP line and don't replace it.The problem with those "real thin" machines is that they're more difficult to cool. I'm guessing it may have on-board GPU integrated with the CPU as in the Intel HD 3000 only more powerful.
Isn't this the same rumor that was a 15" Air?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't really see the point of an ultra thin notebook - especially with a 15" screen.
I think someone is perfectly capable of carrying around a 4-5 lb notebook - but hey, that is just my opinion. Some people actually carry their laptops around with them. Thin is also going to mean lighter.

I just would hate to see Apple phase out thicker notebooks in favor of thinner, less powerful ones.
I agree, the 11" and 13" super thin notebooks are awesome. The MacBook Air was a huge hit, so it's pretty obvious not everyone agrees with your opinion. Has Apple ever gone backwards with their specs? The MacBook Pros have steadily become thinner/lighter since their release without ever becoming less powerful.

Anything much bigger is redundant. It's 15" - that size just isn't super portable.
I think we're kind of talking about the same thing. The MacBook Pros are already thin and light, there is just no real reason to make a 15" super thin MacBook.
I'm just worried that Apple is going to try to phase out the 13" and 15" Pros in favor of a thinner model. The MacBook Airs have worse specs than the Pros and I really wouldn't want a 17" notebook.
