Hi everybody, my macbook pro 2014 started having big grey moving lines all over the screen it's impossible to see anything. I have connected it to external monitor and it works fine on the external monitor here is what I have tried Rest NV/PRAMM, Reset SMC, Update to IOS Catalina, Reinstall Catalina. When I heat the laptop arround where it charges the image comes back just flickering. I haven't dropped the laptop but yesterday I cleaned it with cleaner for glass which may be the cause. I can't take it to someone to look at it as it's winter blizzard outside. Any ideas on how to fix it will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Two possibilities, either the GPU is failing or the cable between the logicboard and LCD is fraying/breaking. The latter is a very likely possibility with laptops since you are constantly opening and closing the cover. Since you are out of warranty period, you can look up the teardown videos on iFixIt or other sites and take the MBP apart to see how the cables look. If that checks out, then it's more likely a GPU failure and you're looking at a logicboard replacement (or more likely a new MBP).

This is not a software issue and no amount of resetting PRAM/SMC or re-installing macOS is going to help.

Thank you for the answer I'm just wondering is it possible to be the GPU since it's working fine with the external monitor? I'm tearing it down right now to check the LCD cable.

Good point, if the external is working, the GPU is likely fine. The cable is more likely and likely a cheaper fix than the logicboard. It might be as easy as to un-connecting the cable and reconnecting it.

So I have checke the cable tryed moving the cable while the laptop is on on both sides on the screen and on the motherboard side the screen didn't change which makes me thing that the issue is not of the cable also I have cleaned the connectors but didn't helped the only thing that fixes the issue is heating the area arround the connector on the screen side that immedietly fixes the issue but it comes back soon after. Any more ideas what else what I could check. Thanks in advance.
