Has anyone removed a few key caps on a 2017 MacBookAir?
I wonder if the procedure is the same as fir a MacBook Pro (where I see a number of videos on line)

One of the family members managed to get some liquid wax from a candle to drip on the keyboard and now the "N" key and the space bar have to be pushed hard to get them to register.
The rest of the keys are fine.

I wanted to see if we can somehow clean out whatever wax residue is causing the problem rather than go all out and replace the whole top with the keyboard.
Does anyone have first hand experience to remove a key cap on a 2017 MBa and can give me some tips.

The keycaps on the 2017 MBA are similar to previous models. They use a cantilever mechanism that locates into clips under the keycap. They are not like the horrible MBP butterfly mechanism keys. When removing worn keycaps I probe gently under the keycap with a small flat bladed screwdriver to release the mechanism from the keycap. The wax may make that difficult or impossible. Then you would need to get the top case with keyboard replaced. I've no idea if warming the keycaps up carefully with a hair drier would help, but beware of too much heat. I've seen similar keyboards damaged by heat when the owner was trying to dry out a liquid spill.
