Hello Folks,

I've got a 2010 white Macbook 13" 2.4ghz, running os 10.7.5, currently upgraded to the "max" ram, two 2gb sticks for 4gb total. I'm slowing down again though and I am wondering if more RAM can stave off replacing my machine. It's good for video, but simple web browsing and some other activities it's pretty slow.

Apple says I'm already maxed out - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1651#link1

Can I upgrade even more? Can I put two sticks of 8gb each for 16gb total? What kind would I need to purchase?

Thanks!

I believe (at the time) the 4GB, was per slot, not the total. But afterwards, 16GB was an option. See here, https://everymac.com/systems/apple/...o-2.4-aluminum-13-mid-2010-unibody-specs.html, for the full specs for your MBP.

Also, consider upgrading the OS, you are running Lion, which is 7 versions behind. Your MP will run El Capitan (10.11), Sierra (10.12), or High Sierra (10.14). All of those are free, and you can try them and choose the one that fits your MBP to make it work better.

Sierra, https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208202
