I pulled a 128 gig SSD from a dead Mac book and want to get the data.

Is there an adapter or affordable recovery service, for extracting data from a Samsung MZ-JPV128R/0A2 12+16 pin SSD?

Prefer to buy an adapter to USB Windows.

The question is: what caused your Mac to die? If it died because the SSD failed, then you won't be able to simply plug your drive into a docking station and pull the data.

If your Mac died due to non-hard drive related reasons, there are a number of docking stations that will work with SSD's:
https://www.amazon.com/ssd-dock/s?page=1&rh=i:aps,k:ssd dock?tag=macforums0e4-20

If your Mac died due to failure of your SSD, then you will need a drive recovery service that can handle SSD's. You will also likely want one that has a high success rate, has a history of very happy customers, and which won't cost you an arm and a leg. I often recommend this one:

"$300 Drive Recovery"
Data Recovery Los Angeles: Cheap Hard Drive, RAID, SSD, Flash Repair

It's important to note that their name "$300 Drive Recovery" isn't a guaranty that the recovery of your drive will always only cost $300. A difficult recovery will cost more. However, in every case that I've heard of, the final cost for the recovery was drastically cheaper than any other quote that the user got from any other drive recovery service. Other drive recovery services are beside themselves in anger over "$300 Drive Recovery"'s pricing, and they have tried to smear them on the Internet. It hasn't worked. "$300 Drive Recovery" offers excellent service and excellent pricing.

They are in Studio City, California.

Five stars from Yelp:
$300 Data Recovery - 82 Photos & 470 Reviews - Data Recovery - 11390 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, Los Angeles, CA - Phone Number - Yelp
(Note that they average 5 out of 5 stars!)

Thank you for responding but you missed a very important point, the SSD that comes from a 2015 model A1465 A1466, with MZ-JPV128R/0A2 12+16 pin SSD, requires a special adapter. Apple only made this type for a short amount of time. The link you posted has no adapters that would work. If you look again at the model number you will understand.

Welcome to our forums.

The thread you're responding to is going on 3 years old. You may or may not get an answer. In any event check with Mac Sales to see if they have an adapter that will work.
