Probably been asked before? Just got a new MBP for my 80th. and wonder if one can create labels in the new "Pages" word processor?

On my old MBP I installed Word for which I have the original CD, but would rather not have two word processors on the new machine.

What sort of labels?

+1 and Ditto???

If you need address labels of your contacts, you can do so right from the Contacts.app.

PS: I also has, or used to provide, various Avery type label sheet layouts as well.

Yes, thanks for that, I've seen the Avery ones but they don't have my format.

I have a box of Labels4you, 8 to an A4 page, they measure around 99mm X 67.7mm each. I've been reading up on pages and I think I can create a "template" of my own so am investigating further!

There are lots of templates available at various sites using the search:
https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=99.1+x+67.7+label+template&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Avery has one available directly:
Word Template for Avery L7165
Shipping Labels, 99.06 x 67.73 mm, 8 per sheet
https://www.avery.co.uk/word-template-l7165

Or try:
EU30008 - 99.1mm x 67.7mm Blank Label Template for Microsoft Word
https://uk.onlinelabels.com/Templates/EU30008-template-microsoft-word.htm

If you get really desperate, it wouldn't be the first time I've used a small spreadsheet with the cells set to the required size. Pages should be able to do that as well.

PS: I even used an AppleWorks spreadsheet as a plan for a large cedar lattice with stringers and posts for a fence company to build for our house's garden.

If you need different template from your label company they say they can e-mail you one:
Labels4u will shortly have all our Labels Templates available here for download. If you urgently need a template email us here and we will send one to you as soon as possible: [email protected]
http://www.labels4u.co.uk/pg/8/Templates

Hopefully that should give you several choices.

Many thanks everybody. I have now managed to create a "template" in Pages and saved it. Just need to try it out now!

Sounds good, however, make sure you try your home made template on blank sheets of paper first. ;)

Good suggestion Charles, and I always held the first plain paper printed sample over the commercial label sheet and held them up to a window or glass panned door that makes it easy to see if everything is aligned properly.

BTW: The Avery stand alone offline Design&Print.app was very good for designing and printing most labels, if they sill provide and support it:
Design&Print
https://www.avery.com/software/design-and-print/desktop

PS: Most labels are pretty well standardized among the various manufacturers, at least they are here in Canada.
