I have a 2016 model, 13" MacBook Pro with touch bar that I bought new in Dec 2016.

It slid off a chair seat to a hardwood floor. I now have no touch bar. About 2 to 3 minutes after being woken up from sleep, it shuts down with or without using pwr cord. As long as it doesn't go into sleep mode, it stays on. The pwr button works fine. The only remedy I've tried so far is to reset the SMC.

Looking for suggestions. Thanks.

You've probably shaken loose a cable or connection when the machine was dropped. If it is no longer under warranty and want to attempt to fix it yourself, go to www.ifixit.com and look up the take apart instructions for your particular machine. You will also need to order some special tools which you can buy from them.

Like many things of this nature...got to open it up & inspect things to see if anything visually can be seen as an issue. As chscag mentioned...could be a loose or disconnected cable...or something could have been broken. Take a look inside to see what you can see. Fingers crossed it's something simple.:)

Ant chance you have that new AppleCare+ which covers accidental damage, with an excess?
