Hi everyone,
Was wondering if someone could help me with this...
Here's my dilemma. I have a TiBook G4, 15", 1GHz, 1MB L3 cache, 1GB SDRAM. It boots in OS 10.4.1 but I've kept it around because I can also run OS9 in Classic Mode and access a ton of docs created in PageMaker 6.5. Last week the flickering display on this Powerbook went completely dark. I hooked it up to an external monitor and it works fine for now.

My question is this...
Can i take the HDD out of this machine (which is model A1025) and and put it into a machine I find on ebay (say a 1095 or 1108?)
I think it has to be a PowerPC-based machine to run OS9 right?

Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Your "Ti" Powerbook is from around 2002. Any Powerbook up to 2005 (the last one's) should be ok. As long as they are running OS 10.4.x or older. You could also use Migration Assistant to transfer things from one computer to another...and not need to swap the HD's.:)

If you're thinking about purchasing another Powerbook...get a newer one...and stuff will run faster.:)

All Powerbook G4's can run OS9 (classic mode) as long as they are running OS 10.4.x or below. OS 10.5 does not support it.

p.s. You could also install it into an external HD case (if you can still find one).
