Hello,

The fan on my macbook air (Mid 2013) had suddenly started becoming very loud intermittently even with no apps running. I tried restarting the computer several times, but the problem persisted for about a week. Looking online, I found an SMC reset might solve the problem. However, after doing the reset, my Macbook now will not turn on at all. There is no startup chime or lights when pressing the startup button. The only thing that happens when I press the power button is that the light on the adapter turns from orange to green for second before turning back to orange.

I have an appointment with the Genius Bar tomorrow, but would like to seen if anyone has any suggestions. Thank You

Keep your appointment - I am unaware of any reason a SMC reset would cause the system not to boot unless there is some underlying hardware issue.
