I have an early 2008 15.4" MacBook Pro. The logicboard died, and it also has a big dent by the case seal and I had to replace the keyboard myself earlier.

I am thinking of getting it fixed. I can get a 2.4 Ghz logic board in there for about $350, installed - is this worth the money to fix it?

I only browse the Internet and use Photoshop occasionally. I will get a new 'nice' laptop someday but not yet... not til my life settles down a bit.

Alternatively I could sell it for parts and then buy another used one on ebay...

Thanks for any insight :)

If you can get the logic board installed for $350, I'd say that's not bad. Usually the logic board is $600+.

That's a good price for the board with installation but you could also get about $250-$350 on ebay for it as is and add that $350(maybe $450) you were going to spend on repairs and get a newer unibody.
