Hey guys, I have what I found to be a common problem, of having dust particles accumulated underneath my MBP screen, visibly ugly, especially on white backdrops. I have organised an appointment with the Genius bar to show them the problem and get screen replaced, I have applecare warranty... I was just curious as to how long the screen replacement takes ? I live 2 hours away from their shop and was hoping to get it done on the same day, or is this wishful thinking ?

Every apple store is different, they may do this while you wait, make you wait a day or 2 (if part is in stock), wait for it to be ordered about 1 week usually, or they send it to depot which takes minimum 2 weeks (typically this is a last resort, there is a cost with this no matter what).

One of the stores by me decided to change my screen and set it to depot and took about 2 1/2 weeks. they were really busy that month and they had already messed up so much with the last repair.

Bottom line only they could tell you, mostly depend on stock, employees on the clock, and how busy they are. You can request it to be done while you wait but don't think it will be a sure thing. You can also call in advanced to check if this is possible.
