Should I wait for the MacBook Pro? I'm guessing it'll be out by the end of the year, if not, then I'll get the current model. But what do you guys think will be included in the updated model (specifications, design, features, etc)? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I would buy now, my best guess would be there won't be a new MacBook Pro this year, maybe middle of next year though.

As for the specs of it when it does come out, i'm afraid your guess is as good as ours at the moment :/

Thanks Simon, I don't mind specifications as much. Because I'm just going to do word processing, light video editing, light photo editing, light sound/music editing, browsing, etc for high school. I think the entry level 13 inch model with 8GB of RAM will be great, I multitask a lot. Thanks again!

Problem is, that the 13" model does not have a dedicated graphics card, only the 15" above have them. Truly baffled why Apple did this?

Heat build up and keep the cost down. The Intel HD 3000 is actually a very good integrated chipset and adding 8 GB of system memory to the MBP 13" gives the HD 3000 512 MB of memory to play with.

The problem with the HD 3000 is that it doesn't do well for playing games.

Which is fine for me, I'm not an average user, but not a power user either. I also won't be gaming, guess my decisions made. :)

Any idea how it handles 1080p video, photo shop, and video editing?

Finally how does it compare to a Mid 2010 iMac i3 with a ATI Radeon HD 4670?

Thinking about buying a MBP, but need to know if the 13" model will at least be comparable to my mid 2010 imac
