Hey guys, I have a macbook pro (purchased in Jan 08) that I want to connect to a dell monitor. I pretty much just want a bigger screen to look at (using the laptop keyboard and mouse). I know my laptop has a DVI port, but what exact cable do I need to make this hook up possible? The dell monitor has a DVI-D port. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Your Mac's Specs
C2D 2.26 | 500GB Seagate Momentus | 2GB 1066 (soon to be 8)
Your MBP has a DVI port?
I thought it was a mini display port on the 2008 models and mini DVI before that

if you have the late 2007 model like mine it should have come with a DVI to VGA adapter but since your dell monitor can hook up with a DVI port all you need is a DVI cable. The port on the macbook pro is female so you'll need a male to whatever is the opposite connection of your dell monitor (if it's a female DVI port you'll need a male connection)

hope that helps
