PowerBook G4 cannot detect hard disk

Hello

I have PowerBook G4 when i boot up suddenly the system initialize and it takes to long to show the desktop. but nothing happened


what i did is to run the installer and check in the disk utilities, i found out that my hard disk is doesn't detected.


I have no idea why it cannot detected.

but I still try to fix it and find the cause why it cannot detect my HDD


I opened the case then full out the hard disk then i tried to plug in in other pc which having a windows system... the system of windows was detected my HDD.


I tried to go back again in my powerbook G4 but still cannot detected
I just wondering why?

so what i did again is replace new HDD for my PowerBook G4 but i was shocked bcoz my powerBook G4 still cannot detected my newly installed HDD...



Please i have no idea if its a hardware problem, and how to fix it...

20" Intel iMac 2.4 Ghz/3G Ram/320HD, Snow Leopard. PBook G4, 1.5Ghz/1.5 Ram/250 HD, Leopard 10.5.6.
Have you formatted the new drive? That would be the principal reason, or does it not even show as greyed out?

I formatted the HDD in other Windows PC
but i cant reformat in powerbook g4 even i booted up in cd installer
and go to disk utilities
there is no visible Disk icon

Did the original hard drive ever work on your powerbook? If yes, what happened when you used it last or between when you used it last and the next time you tried to boot up your laptop that might have damaged either the hard drive or your PB hardware? Maybe nothing happened that you can remember or think of. Sometimes things break.

You've provided great info except for whether you have parts that you know worked before. If you have parts that used to all play nice together, then it sounds like you have a hardware problem. If you're assembling parts together for the first time, then I'm wondering if the hard drives or cables you have are compatible with your powerbook.
