Is there enough of a difference in performace to justify the extra expense of the 2.53 over the 2.4?

I can get the 4GB kit from crucial for £95. I don't game so the 512MB graphics memory means nothing to me, so it's all about the CPU. I ca save myself £250 by going for the 2.4 so what do you think, is it worth the money?

I am in the same position but because RAM, HDD, graphics card, clock speed and 6MB of L2 Cache it has convinced me to go for the better machine. You can never update the processor and the machine has to last me 3 years or so.

Most people will never notice the difference between 3MB and 6MB of cache but I will video editing etc.

I don't personally think you would notice the difference but if you have the money its a good idea to go for the machine with the upgraded processor as this cant be upgraded at a future date (well not easily) as it is soldered to the motherboard.
