eyes hurt really fast

when ever i use my MacBook Pro my eyes seem to start to hurt not even after 10 minutes, , and my brightness isint on that hight, is there a anything that i can put over the screen so that my eyes dont hurt that fast? i have an old computer with one of the old monitors (the like half a meter wide ones lol) and my eyes never hurt when im on it , never.\

Good point youthpastor, the distance to the laptop vs. the ancient monitor may be alerting the young user his/her eyes need to be checked. I would also wonder about the ambient light in the room being too dark so even a dimmer than bright monitor could be causing a tad bit of eyestrain or headache.

I hope this does not in any way sound mean because it's not meant to be. I agree, I would get a checkup by a good Eye doctor. I have found the newer screens have done the reverse for me and have taken away my eye strain. If I go back to the old CRT displays then I tend to get tired very fast while on my iMac I can sit for hours without strain. The MBP has a very nice display for a laptop.
