Trim, SSD macbook pro 2011

Hello. Im David from Sweden and I am new to this forum.

I just installed a Samsung EVO 860 500gb SSD in my MacBook Pro early 2011 i7 2,7ghz with 16gb ram with OS X Sierra 10.12.16.
I read somewhere that it was super important to install something called "TRIM" so the SSD won't die.

When I look at "about this computer" on my computer it says Trim support: NO

My questions is:
Do I need to activate/install trim?
If I need to do that. How do I do that without killing my computer and without loosing all the content I have on the SSD?

I Searched for Trim in the search field but didn't got any results..

I hope someone can help me IF I need help .

Okey. I did some research. I enabled trim but now my Mac wont boot.. ��. When I boot i Come to the menu where I write down my log in password but after a couple of seconds the computer just goes black..

Ohh dear Terminal is very dangerous Black Magic unless you know PRECISELY what you are doing.

Okey. Can I undo it or do I need to erase disk and reinstall Osx?

Obviously, if the machine won't boot you can't reverse the terminal command. You're probably going to need to erase the disk and then use the version of Trim Enabler that Harry suggested above. Hopefully, you made a backup of all your data before starting this. ;D

I think you can open terminal in safe start mode or something like that. I can boot to disk utility but not to the desktop.

Hehe I did not make a backup but I had just installed osx and Logic pro x + a couple of plug ins so no worries there .

If you can boot into Recovery, then along the top menu bar, you my have the Utility/Utilities option, then Terminal, should be listed there.

lol. I tried to do a scan of the ssd but it couldnt finish. I said error... This is not looking promising. Will try to undo the trim in the terminal.

Okey but change sudo trimforce enable to sudo trimforce disable?

An update.
I couldn't use any commands in the Terminal and believe me I tried.
I erased the disk and installed a new OS X Sierra and the first thing I did was to buy Trim enabler 4. I enabled it and it worked without any problems and under the button "about my computer" it now says Trim support: YES.
I also did a benchmark. I don't know if this is a good result cause I forgot to do a benchmark before I enabled the trim lol.
