Will this monitor work with my G4?
Can I use an apple cinema A1082 display with my G4 M8570? My old G4 display went out.

Will I need a power adapter for my monitor as I can get one for like $20 but the monitor doen't have a power block with it.

I believe this Apple monitor uses a full sized DVI video cable...thus you would need to check or let us know if your G4's video card has a full size DVI port.

If I'm understanding this statement correctly...two things were mentioned (power adapter & power block):

    - If by "power adapter" you mean "video adapter"...you may need one depending what ports are on your G4's video card.
    - Regarding the "power block" (usually called the "power supply")...most definitely you will need this...otherwise the monitor won't work.

One other thing. Native resolution on this montior is 1920 x 1200. Make sure the video card in the G4 can handle this resolution.

Radeon mac edition 8500 64M. This is the card I have. It has a DVI-I adapter on the back.

If the G4 model number in post #1 is correct (M8570)...this is known as a "Mirror Drive Door" (MDD) Powermac G4. There were three different models.

I'm having a little difficulty finding the video card...none of the three MDD G4's list a Radeon mac edition 8500 video card as original equipment (also checked other G4 models). But the 64 meg of VRAM does seem to be enough to support a 1920 x 1200 display.
