I have a mid-2007 iMac 20" 2.0 Ghz that will not power on. I ordered a new power supply and when I took the iMac apart the new power supply was different from the old one. The old one is p/n 614-0415 and the new one is 614-0430.

From what I've been able to determine the new 614-0430 is for a mid-2009 machine. I've also seen a 614-0403 listed as an equivalent to the 614-0415 which makes me think they transposed the last two digits and sent me the wrong power supply.

Can the 614-0430 be used in place of the 614-0416 or not?

Thanks,

If you want to double check part numbers & compatabilities...check out Powerbookmedic.com. Also check if they give output wattage.

Are the new & old power supply the same shape & size...same wiring locations & connectors...and same bolt pattern?

Same size, shape, bolt pattern wiring locations and connectors but very different electronic components.
