New graphics card

I have a Mac pro from 2012. I am running a ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB. I need a new card to keep playing my games. What do you recommend for a good price that will last long???

Gaming video cards are out of site expensive right now. The Cyptominers (Bitcoin etc.) are buying them up which has driven the prices up. I purchase a GTX 1080 with 8GB about six months ago and the price on it has gone up $500. Unfortunately what you need in frame refresh rates and GPU processing power is what they are looking for. Best bet is to find one on eBay but be prepared.

I don't game but I need the card for video work rendering. Any thing for the Mac will cost more for the same card that will be cheaper in the Windows version. You can run a Windows card in a Mac but you give up the boot screen. Keep in mind Apple will not supply drivers for any Nvidia card past the GTX 780. You will have to run web drivers. This guy occasionally posts cards for sale that are windows cards with flashed EFI for mac compatibility. I use to say they are not cheap but actually he is now cheaper than the current pricing on other sites.
