I cannot drag and drop icons or images. When I do, the computer locks up. Sometimes I get a green circle with a + in it and a bllack arrow pointer. Wherever I move that green circle the icon of the file I'm trying to drag & drop follows the circle. Now I've tried to drag & drop jpeg picture and the outline of the picture moves with the cursor but not the picture. On one occasion I dragged a folder icon to the trash. The blue folder icon stayed in front of the trash icon (didn't go in) and wherever I moved the cursor, the folder icon followed.
I've been on the phone with Apple Care four times in the last three days. They had me do several tests in disc utility of the disc and everything was ok. About a month ago I was having a problem (don't recall what it is now) but took the computer to the Apple Store and their diagnostics said all was ok.
At Apple Care suggestion I reinstalled my operating system 10.10.5 and when done it seemed to be dragging and dropping properly but not for long. Now I can't drag and drop without it freezing again.
Everything else seems to be working properly. Just can't drag and drop.
Anyone have any ides what might be causing this?
