I don't use and Apple mouse, and it's my understanding that Apple still makes a one-button mouse. I know that my son's iMac came with a one-button mouse.
Curious that this has persisted through an upgrade of the OS. There is a stand-alone Safari upgrade on the App Store site. Maybe installing that would help.

I know that there was a known issue with a certain build of Outlook when pasting URLs into messages. It's possible that there is another integration issue - check to see that you have the latest version of Outlook installed.

I couldn't tell if OP was using Outlook, or outlook.com. Also need more information about the mouse, in order to suggest fixes.

It's a 1 button mouse and I am using outlook.com,

Assuming this is your iMac model, there is no way the mouse that came with it would be what one would call it "a 1 button mouse"!!!
http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...-i3-3.06-21-inch-aluminum-mid-2010-specs.html

"The "Mid-2010" iMac models include a compact aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard and a multi-touch "Magic Mouse," but for US$69 could be upgraded to include a multi-touch "Magic Trackpad" that "enables users to scroll smoothly up and down a page with inertial scrolling, pinch to zoom in and out, rotate an image with their fingertips and swipe three fingers to flip through a collection of web pages or photos" just like on Apple notebooks from the same era."

That is definitely a multi-button mouse but its "buttons" are hidden and electronic.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Mouse

Be forewarned that Apple often shipped them and the iMac with the Mouse System preference set as a single button mouse as a default and both set as "Primary".

PS: Steve Jobs didn't want any two button mice used and insisted on single button mice for their "simplicity", so that's why they got shipped and set that way. JFYI as some interesting history info. ;)

Have a look the the Mouse pref pane as I mentioned previously and set it up more normally.

I've got a collection of "Magic Mice" going back to 2008 of which none of them in my opinion are any good. I still use a reliable wired mouse that tracks and works great. And yes, I also do not like trackpads.

Well that's sure something we can agree on but I keep a wired one, and a Logitech one available just in case, but did pickup a wireless/USB Logitech M705 some years ago on sale for $30.00± cdn which has turned out to be the best and smoothest reliable mouse I have ever used. Using a proper matching good quality mouse pad I might or should add!!!

And I just discovered a week or so ago that it actually has an 8th hidden button I didn't know about that was goofing up some things for my use but was able to disable and change its function using its Logitech Control Center Pref Pane.

I can't think of an Apple mouse I've actually enjoyed using since the old Mac serial mouse days, but one didn't have much choice back then, but I'm sure I ended up using a wired Logitech one even then. :D

I thought they used to be called Mighty Mouse, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Mouse#Apple_Mighty_Mouse?

I had that (my image) Magic Mouse with my 2010 iMac. That was why I asked.

It's a one-button mouse, so I assume that in the original post "right click" means "Control-click". Imprecise terminology confuses me. I'm sure I'm not alone in that, and it's not meant as a criticism, just a clarification for my sanity.

All of Apple's mouses since 2005 have had the potential to work as at least "two button" or maybe more specifically "zones" as set via the Mouse pref pane software.

In 2005, for the first time in its 22 years of making mice, Apple shipped a model with two buttons. Instead of using physical mechanisms, the Mighty Mouse featured touch-sensitive buttons. Like the Pro Mouse before it, the body of the mouse would respond to the click
.

In October 2009, Apple released the Multi-Touch Magic Mouse. Build on an aluminum base, this mouse’s curved top works as a single touch-sensitive area, with “zones” for right and left-clicking. Scrolling and gestures can be done using two fingers.

We're still not sure how the OP has their Apple Mouse configured, if at all from any default setting whatever they might have been. But in 2011, as a "single" button mouse was still common as Jobs might have still been alive when the unit shipped, as the two buttons were often both set as "Primary" in the Mouse Pref Pane.
