can i install MS windows or linux on imac g3?

I didn't use a Mac pc before
.. I wanna buy a mac computer by the net .. but I don't want to buy if it's not possible to install ms windows xp or prev versions or linux on it .. is it normal free to install on it ?? is it possible to install windows on it ?
and if it possible ... can i install mac and windows together ?? so i can choose one of them when the pc boot ..

You can not install windows on any Apple products at this time, until you are using virtual pc. I have read that you can install linux.

Apple hardware (especially that of older models like the iMac G3) is very different to a PC. It's a totally different type of CPU and architecture.

So no, it is NOT possible to install any Windows NATIVELY on a Mac. The only way is, like rman said, through a PC emulator like VirtualPC, which will be pretty slow on that iMac.

There are Linux distros for Mac though, just look for PowerPC versions of Linux.
