Use monitor with dead hard drive on another computer

I have a friend with an IMAC. The hard drive crashed. He would like to use the monitor with another computer. Is there a way to do that? A switch or other hardware that would provide ports needed? Thank You.

Wouldn't be easier for your friend to just put a new hard drive in his iMac and continue to use it? And no, you can not use the monitor from the iMac for another computer.
