Force-refresh on Safari

I have found out, to my great misfortune, that Safari does not have a force refresh feature (similar to Ctrl + Refresh on some Windows browsers). This is NOT GOOD when you're telling one of your clients you've done the updates to their site and they can't seem them.

Sometimes even if you clear your cache and history Safari will still show the old web page. If you open up another browser like Camino or Firefox that does have a force refresh and then refresh Safari the changes are there. Suffice to say, as much as I love Safari, I do not use it for testing anymore and have awkwardly had to get my client to start using Camino.

Does anyone know if force refresh is a planned feature for Safari?

That's just refresh. If you Ctrl + F5 on IE Windows (rather than just F5) it tells both the browser and the proxy server (if you are using one) to load the page from the remote server. Safari has some serious caching issues. It's a real ballache if you're doing regular updates for clients that use Safari. As a developer, force-refresh is just as important as something fundamental like the back button.

You can press Option + Command + E to empty cache and Command + R to refresh. I can't test it but should work.

Supposedly, Shift-Refresh does it...but I agree with the sentiment that Safari has some serious caching problems. It also has some pretty significant CSS rendering bugs that were driving me NUTS while developing a website.

I've since switched to Firefox full time (well, BonEcho, technically).

Hold down option and click refresh...supposed to force refresh.
